Westman Immigrant Services (WIS) is a non-profit registered charity organization serving newcomers in the Western Manitoba region. With a vision of creating a generational impact for clients, our staff and our community. We liaise with community groups and organizations to work towards building capacity in our community for improving services to immigrants and refugees.
 
Overview:
We are currently hiring for a Program Coordinator. Working from the WIS offices in Brandon, a Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality training and program coordination, facilitated by both themselves and the team.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate training programs
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate programming including scheduling, promotion, participant outreach, registration and delivery
  • Establish, follow and consistently evaluate administrative processes designed to check-in, follow-up and analyze outcomes
  • Research based designing of programming curriculum based on best practices and in alignment with organizational requirements
  • Design and maintain resources to ensure programming continuance
  • Stay informed of current resources, trends, changes and services gaps in the community
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders including community networks and employers to improve engagement, feedback, participation and promotion of programming
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided, statistics, and prepare reports as required
  • Department personnel administration i.e. scheduling, attendance, training, coaching etc.
  • Create an inspiring, engaging and collaborative atmosphere within teams and other WIS departments                     to achieve collective goals and deliver quality service to clients
  • Provide management with operational support as required
 
Skill, Ability and Licensing Requirements:
  • Able to maintain personal accountability and ownership of team performance
  • Experience with people management and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, plan and facilitate programming
  • Knowledge of programming material including current state, navigation and challenges
  • Experience with tools i.e. MS Office, communication and database management etc.
  • Strong proficiency and ability to communicate in English
  • Provide a clear Criminal Record, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Driver Abstract; where required
  • Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management, employees, and community stakeholders in a diverse environment
