Leading a Charity

You’re now at the point in your career where you want to lead an organization and are not sure what to do to get yourself prepared.  This workshop will help you better understand what a CEO does on a daily basis and what you need to transition into this leadership role. 

Do you wonder what the CEO of a charity does every day? Do you want to use your skills to further advance philanthropy in your community?  Are you ready to leverage your fundraising experience into the realm of charity leadership?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, they you are ready to learn how to lead a charity.  This session will show you what a CEO does and what you need to do to prepare for when it is your turn to lead a charity.


OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
1. understand what a CEO does on a daily basis.
2. understand how to read a financial statement from a CEO perspective
3. know the basics of governance and how it affects your job
4. understand the fiduciary and legal requirements of being a CEO
5. build a plan for your first day on the job as CEO
6. launch your career to a new leadership platform.
