City of Brandon "Downtown Spring Community Clean-up Day

We are again putting on a Downtown Spring Cleanup Day.  Hoping you can help spread the word to your membership, or contacts (poster attached). 
 
Organizations can feel free to contact us if they want to setup a table to promote their programs at the event.  Or gather up some co-workers or friends and register a team.  Individuals are also welcome! 
 
It is now a great community event where those in government, the business community, non-profits, and community members from all demographics can come together and show some love for our downtown by doing litter pickup after the spring melt. Last year we had a whopping 88 participants, hoping to get even more to turn out this year!  

Date: Wednesday, May 7^th between 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Where:  Princess Park (starting point)
Details:  

• Volunteers provided with safety vests, gloves, garbage bags, garbage pickers, sharps container
• When people arrive, they will be assigned a specific area to clean with a map. 
• Training provided for sharps disposal
• Registration encouraged but not required
• Refreshments provided
• Prizes for:
  • Best/most fun dressed team
  • Most garbage collected (submit pictures)
  • Best picture (can be of their team, something cool downtown, before & after picture)
